So I’ve been away from this blog for over a decade. Do people even read blogs anymore? Update time I guess?
Kids well they’ve grown obviously. M is 19 and a bit of a failure to launch (more on this later). D is 17 in just over a week. J is 11.
School is done. I’ve finished my double degree which took way longer than it should have. If you are ever considering a masters make sure you will only have 1 supervisor because having 2 makes it almost impossible to finish.
Work is fulfilling. I am now a Director who knew I would love the strategy and the leadership. I led a team as a new manager through COVID and if anything shapes you as a leader it’s a pandemic working in healthcare.
Health hmmm this one will be lengthy. Perimenopause is a bitch. Thought I was going crazy about 2 years ago. Joint pain, fatigue, mood swings, headaches, irritability, weight gain, night sweats, and sleeplessness. If men experienced this there would be a cure tomorrow I bet. So thankful for helpful coworkers who helped me find a practitioner so I could get on HRT. Now I take estrogen and progesterone and a myriad of supplements and I’m stable. Still trying to get rid of the belly fat though. I’ve recently cut the alcohol and started to take berberine and inosotol and things are starting to budge. See my affiliate links below. I also take a magnesium and l-theanine and collagen powder that makes sleep sleepier. I’m eating protein and fibre in insane amounts. Oh and I take creatine for my brain and muscles. I forgot about the brain fog! I feel sharp again which is great. Boobs are sore sometimes but it’s manageable. Make sure you do your research here as there are so many people trying to make money off those of us tangling with this bitch and lots of it does nothing.
Hobbies are a bit different now too. I painted and restored furniture for about 4 years. This was a fun little side hustle. I have been doing pottery for about a year now. This is something that will take me a while to master. It’s humbling but apparently brain protective and there’s a social aspect to it so I’ve made some acquaintances.
